Projects
ECR has completed many successful environmental projects throughout southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod, and surrounding areas. Below are some examples of current and past projects, many of which we continue to monitor.
Brewer Plymouth Marine, Plymouth, Massachusetts
Permitting
ECR obtained permits for a range of marina improvement projects at Brewer Plymouth Marine, including bulkhead repair and replacement, boat lift construction, and float reconfigurations. These projects required permit approvals by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Environmental Protection Waterways Division, and the local conservation commission.
Residential Client, Surfside Road, Scituate, Massachusetts
Permitting
ECR obtained permits for a seawall improvement project that allowed a homeowner on Surfside Road to extend a vertical concrete revetment used to protect the client's single-family home. This project required site analyses, coordination with professional engineers, and permit approval from the local conservation commission.
Coastal Bank at Barnes Lane, Plymouth, Massachusetts
Permitting & Construction
ECR completed a coastal bank enhancement project at Barnes Lane to restore the natural landscape. After obtaining approval from the local conservation commission, ECR coordinated a herbicide treatment, removed non-native, invasive plants (primarily Japanese Knotweed), and revegetated the bank with native, salt-tolerant plant species. ECR continues to manage the restoration with ongoing treatment as necessary.

Whips Farm Trust, Plymouth, Massachusetts
Environmental Project Management
ECR enabled agricultural activities to continue as normal at Whips Farm in Plymouth despite a challenge from the Department of Environmental Protection. ECR confirmed agricultural exemptions for the farm, which is located in a wetland resource area. In addition, ECR established 100-foot buffer zones, allowing the farm to continue with routine maintenance and soil enrichment practices, and permitted aquatic vegetation management. Lastly, ECR assisted legal counsel to resolve a dispute with the DEP regarding agricultural activities within wetland resource areas.
Quirk Trust, LLC, Mansfield, Massachusetts
Wetland Restoration & Replication
ECR managed the restoration and replication of approximately 2.5 acres of wetland in Mansfield in response to a Department of Environmental Protection Administrative Consent Order. This project required wetland restoration and replication design, construction overview, ensuring regulatory compliance, and reporting.
Town of Cohasset, Massachusetts
Wetland Restoration & Replication
Working for the Town of Cohasset, ECR completed a wetland restoration and replication project on King Street for wetlands associated with the MBTA Greenbush commuter rail line. ECR managed installation of erosion control measures and plantings, monitored the site, and reported conditions to the town.
NSTAR
Wetland Delineation & Permitting
Working in conjunction with local conservation commissions, the Department of Environmental Protection, and the Massachusetts Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program, ECR delineated wetland resource areas and obtained permits for numerous NSTAR electric and gas utility projects. ECR remains on call with NSTAR for ongoing environmental services.
VHB (Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc.), Worcester, Massachusetts
Wetland Delineation
ECR was contracted by VHB to delineate wetland resource areas as required for establishing various electric utility rights of way.
ERM (Environmental Resources Management), Boston, Massachusetts
Wetland Delineation & Permitting
ECR was contracted by ERM to delineate wetland resource areas and obtain permits for various electric and gas utility projects.
Residential Client, Hanson, Massachusetts

A.D. Makepeace Company, Wareham, Massachusetts
Wetland Delineation
Working for A.D. Makepeace, a leader in environmentally responsible real estate development, Brad Holmes delineated wetland resource areas at their Swan Holt site in Carver.
